THE 24th DISTRICT COURT, IN CONJUNCTION WITH LOCAL AREA COURTS, IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2009 AMNESTY PROGRAM.
‚ Effective Wednesday, April 1, 2009 through Thursday, April 30, 2009.
‚ Amnesty applies to those individuals who present themselves at the 24th District Court, 6515 Roosevelt Road, Allen Park, MI 48101, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
‚ Included are all civil infraction and payable misdemeanor violations that are in active warrant status prior to December 31, 2008. Also, included are all payable parking violations with an offense date on or before December 31, 2008. ‚ Individuals may appear at the Court to address the above listed violations without fear of being arrested upon their voluntary appearance. ‚ Individuals who do not voluntarily appear at the Court will not be provided immunity from an arrest on an outstanding warrant. ‚ As an incentive during this period of amnesty, the 24th District Court Judges have authorized the waiver of the $40 show cause fee, $40.00 warrant fee and 20% late fee. ‚ Individuals who have a suspended license by the Michigan Department of State will be required to pay the $45.00 clearance fee to reinstate their driving privileges. ‚ No payment plans or partial payments will be accepted. Full payment only. ‚ Acceptable methods of payment include: VISA, Master Card, Certified Check, Money Order or Cash.
‚ District Court Judges advise that after this period of amnesty, no further consideration will be given.
